
Marion F. Winkler, PhD, RD, LDN, CNSD is currently Associate Professor of
Surgery at Brown University School of Medicine and Surgical Nutrition
Specialist, Department of Surgery and Nutritional Support Service at Rhode
Island Hospital, Providence, RI. As a member of the interdisciplinary
nutritional support team, she provides nutritional assessment and management
for patients in the hospital and home receiving parenteral and enteral
nutrition therapy. Her current research focuses on the quality of life and
home parenteral nutrition. Dr. Winkler received her BS in Nutrition from
Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland Ohio, her MS in Allied Health
and Clinical Dietetic Research from the University of Connecticut, and PhD
from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. She is active
in the American Dietetic Association, is a former chair of Dietitians in
Nutrition Support, and is a Past President of the American Society for
Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (A.S.P.E.N.). Dr. Winkler is a member of
the A.S.P.E.N. Rhoads Research Foundation and serves on the Scientific
Advisory Council for Sustain (A.S.P.E.N.’s National Patient Registry for
Nutrition Care. She is the recipient of numerous awards including the
American Dietetic Association’s Medallion and Clinical Excellence Awards,
and the Distinguished Achievement in Nutrition Support Dietetics Award from
A.S.P.E.N.
