Olivia’s Peek-a-Boo Pocket

Some creative sewers have come up with a children’s T-shirt that allows you to thread a central venous line through a slit into a pocket on the outside of the shirt. Having the line in the pocket can prevent the catheter from snagging and accidentally dislodging from the body, while allowing ready access to the line. In addition, the creators say, “The garment minimizes the possibility of skin irritation by providing comfort.” Named for Olivia Costa, a pediatric cancer patient, the undergarment has a soft cotton-padded lining next to the skin and the pocket is securely closed with Velcro.
These sleeveless, cotton T-shirts are available in five children’s sizes for $15.00 each, plus $5.60 S&H (sent Priority Mail). The pocket is located on the left side of garment unless you request otherwise.
