If you want to change the BEHAVIOR…..change the stimulus!!!  Novelty can increase interest and attention

Vary the chairs, cups, plates, napkins, utensils to create interest

  • Use a “spoon” that is not a “spoon”

  • Toothpicks or coffee stirs or straws

  • Rounded corn cob holders

  • Cocktail forks

  • Carrot sticks, apple slices, pretzels

  • Dippers

  • Dip a familiar food into a “new” dip

  • Dunk a new dipper into a familiar dip

  • Dip wet food into crumbs or sprinkles

  • Sandwich “puzzles”

  • Cracker sandwich stacks

  • Matching cracker/sandwich/cheese slice shapes

  • Cookie cutter shapes
