
Darlene Kelly, MD, PhD, was a dietitian and assistant professor of nutrition
through the 1960's and 70's. She completed a doctorate in nutrition in 1978, and
later a medical doctorate with a residency in internal medicine and a fellowship
in gastroenterology and GI research. She has been the Medical Director of the
Mayo Home Parenteral Nutrition Program since 1991, was on the Oley Board of
Directors for 9 years and currently chair of the Oley Research Committee. She is
an Associate Professor of Medicine in the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine,
consultant in the Division of GI and Hepatology and head of Mayo's Gut Failure
Clinic. Her areas of interest include: HPN, short bowel syndrome and
malabsorption.
