Ordering Formula Direct May Save Money
Back by popular demand, the following information has been updated for EN consumers.
Many enteral formula manufacturers offer a "home delivery" program where consumers can purchase their formula directly and potentially save themselves a significant amount of money. Below is a short list of manufacturers and a sample price for their most popular formula(s). Please note, the list is far from complete. If you are interested in a company or product that is not given below, we suggest that you call the manufacturer and ask about their home delivery program and/or the price of the formula you need. You might also ask if they offer any financial assistance. Note: for those who are income-qualified, food stamps may be used in some cases to purchase formula and some manufacturers donate formula to regional food banks.
Another option is to try shopping on-line, though not all products are available and prices vary widely. Besides the nutrition company websites, it is possible to order some formulas through on-line pharmacies/supermarkets like CVS or NetGrocer.
However you shop, if you plan on being reimbursed for your purchases, be sure to discuss the details with your insurance company before placing your order.
